it was a great day. the entrence fee was 10 dollars cheaper for walkers so i parks a little ways from the park and hiked it all. most people drive up to the giants but i hiked it and enjoyed it all the much more. from my car to where the main attractions (grizzy giant and california tree) was about 3 miles each way and the elevation gain was note worthy. akira had alot of fun on the hike. drinking and playing in small streams that run down the mountain.
i would have seen the rest of the major trees but dogs are not allowed on trails and these where the only ones that where close enough to the road (which dogs are allowed on).
