been hanging out with friends and bumming it around LA.  good times with good friends. 

took akira for a short hike and there where some flowers along the path

went camping at lake piru about 15 miles from thousand oaks, california.  a bunch of skunks and racoons came out so i got some shots.

the weather has finally broke so its back to pants and sweatshirts

i have been planning a multi day hike and found the pacific crest trail (WIKI).  it spans 2,650 miles and goes through Washington, Oregon, and California between Mexico and Canada.  now of course i wont be tackling the whole trail.  but there are alot of smaller trails that lead to it along with campsites and nice fishing lakes along the way.  i purchased a months membership to trails.com to get the guides for the trails.  there is so little documentation on actual trail routes.  here is the best map i could find of the area with actualy trail highlights.  you'll see highway 3450 along the middle top.  that leads to cherry creek trailhead which takes you to the pacific crest trail.  there is a campsite about 6 miles from the parking and i plan to sent up camp there and do a few day hikes.  im not completely sold on the idea yet.  as none of my gear is for backpacking.  my tent and sleeping bag would have to be carried or rudely tied to by backpack.  but if the weathers right and it isnt bad i hope to do the trail. 

but im getting a little ahead of myself.  i still have mariposa grove in yosemite which ill probably be leaving for monday or tuesday.
