central canada

driving up from Vancouver has been amazing.  so many mountains and crystal clear lakes.  all very similiar to the cherry creek campsite with the exception that they are right by the main road, and you dont have to hike 6 miles to get there.  i think Akira can do without the mountain driving but she always eventually calms down.  im in Prince George at the moment and the campsite i found coming here was really nice.  it was a park that was a block away from the highway and bordered one of the many beautiful lakes.
since making the stop in Oregon and unloading my summer cloths and snowboards there has been alot more room in the back.  so i dont even set up tent anymore, i just stay in the car.  which is quite cozy with my nice sleeping bag.
not to much else to say.  i tried to fish quite a bit the night i stayed at the camp site.  i stopped there around 3:30 knowing i wasn't gonna make it to Prince George.  the lake was filled with trout which i saw jumping constantly around me as i fished.  i thought i had a hit on one of my lines but considering it was the only one, i could be wrong.  i was mostly using spoons, flys and some salmon bait (roe(fish eggs)).  o well though.  hopefully i can finally fish for some salmon as i head further north.
so far the reports havnt looked to promising for northern lights but its like a 3day forecast and things can change.  you can check out some of the links here Alaska Aurora Forcast and also on this website which forecast spaceweather.  the alaska one looks promising but i will have to go pretty far north.  the gas here in Canada is about 4.46$ a gallon so its really expensive.  but hopefully when i get into Alaska that wont be the case.

here are some pictures from Whistler to Prince George:
whistler at night.  the light to the right of the moon is jupiter and below the moon is the top of whistler mountain.  sorry for the blurred lights.  with the long exposure time it was hard to keep still.

there where a bunch of dead trees at the end of the lake.  this is very common and i saw this alot in oregon.  the trout usually hide under them
